Horizon Application Manager + ThinApp. Vmware’s Horizon Application Manager has been updated so that it can quickly discover and aggregate Windows applications virtualized with VMware ThinApp. Once aggregated, IT admins use Horizon Application Manager to deliver and manage virtual Windows apps together with cloud/SaaS apps as part of Horizon’s unified application catalog. User access is controlled by IT via strong policy management that delivers real-time application usage data for unprecedented operational visibility and license management. Horizon Mobile. Horizon Mobile Manager was recently announced which is a product that will allow public sector/ corporate IT administrators to establish and securely manage an employee’s connected mobile workspace in isolation from their personal mobile environment. Training and Enablement:
- FREE VMware View Training Bootcamp for Customers and Partners – The sessions from July 19 to July 29 are now available on-demand. Four new sessions will also be added to the bootcamp pages in the coming weeks around persona, troubleshooting View, DR architectures and UC.
This 9-part training is a series of 45 minute youtube videos that will be available on the VMware communities and will take you through how to get started and successfully roll out and deploy virtual desktops and applications. Sessions cover everything from storage and networking best practices to PCoIP tuning and optimizing your base image. VMware's new security server for PCoIP will also be touched on and how you can take advantage of powershell to write your own scripts for View.
